Limits
Paperful applies a small set of limits to keep processing fast, reliable, and fair across all workspaces.
Papers
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Maximum file size | 100 MB |
| Maximum pages per paper | 500 pages |
| Maximum papers per upload | 1 |
| Maximum filename length | 255 characters |
Limits apply to the original file before processing.

Supported Formats
Paperful currently accepts the following document formats:
| Format | Extension |
|---|---|
.pdf | |
| Microsoft Word | .doc, .docx |
| Microsoft PowerPoint | .ppt, .pptx |
| Apple Pages | .pages |
| Apple Keynote | .key |
| PNG | .png |
| JPEG | .jpg, .jpeg |
| HEIC | .heic |
| Static GIFs | .gif |
| WebP | .webp |
Documents may be converted to PDF before entering the processing pipeline.
API Requests
API requests are rate limited per workspace.
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Requests | 600 requests / minute |
| Concurrent uploads | 10 |
| Concurrent processing jobs | Plan dependent |
When a rate limit is exceeded, Paperful responds with:
HTTP/1.1 429 Too Many RequestsClients should retry the request using exponential backoff.
Storage
Storage is measured separately from processing credits.
Your storage allowance depends on your plan. Storage includes original papers and files generated or retained by Paperful as part of the document lifecycle.
You can view current storage usage from the console.
Increasing limits
Need more?
Enterprise workspaces can request higher limits for file sizes, processing concurrency, API throughput, storage, and other platform limits.
